CoolerMaster
Notepals
Cat:
This little gadget lifts your notebook from the table, allowing
it some breathing space and ability to cool off - material
used is a combo of aluminium and plastic with ventilation
channels for excellent heat dissipation. The six degrees
of incline control also means you have adjust and adjust
till you find the angle which best suits you.Worry not about
laptop slipping off, the non-slip rubber and surface design
takes care of that little matter. If I ever need comfortable
placement of my machine for long-term usage, at least I
know where to start to look.
Stan:
If it’s 12-inches, 16-inches or even 17-inches, this notebook
pal will hold it. It also claims to relieve pressure and
strain on wrist from heavy notebook use. Sturdy enough to
take the place of your desktop on your work table..

The
green laser pointer
Cat:
What that looks and feels like a big and heavy pen, is in
actual fact...another laser pointer! This "Class IIIA Laser
Product" requires two AAA batteries and will produce something
called 532nm laser wave length, in a constant wave mode. All
I know is I have hours of fun with it, in the office on slow
afternoons.

Stan:
Target project screens, video monitors, presentations, museum
and tours. Funnily, description says it can also point at
the stars. Now, that I gotta see for myself!

iZZipro
user terminal
Cat:
This iBurst user terminal dubbed the iZZipro is offered as
a package with iBurst service by iZZinet in Malaysia. This
particular terminal has a powerful antenna, as well as Ethernet
and USB ports. True mobility might be a problem as the UT
needs a power source. Also, iZZinet is trying to cover as
much of Malaysia as possible. Last I checked, the service
in a rather high-density area, was still dodgy. After a few
more months,who knows

Stan:
In a few months, it better be ready or there will be a lot
of unhappy people! There is a prepaid deposit of over RM1000,with
option for easy installation via a few selected credit cards.
This particular package offers a download link of up to1Mbps.

Razer
protolype keyboard
Cat:
I’ve always been impressed with Razer mice, those high-tech,
high precision mice which presumably were targeted towards
highend gamers. This time around they produce a keyboard which
they claim to be the first to have an integrated iPod dock
– synchronizing with iTunes and simultaneous charging becomes
a breeze now. This off-white keyboard looks like a classy
dame with a tattoo, who will make you want to tidy up your
desk ‘cos she’ll spank you if you don’t.
Stan:
Besides the media hot keys for instant access to media programs,
there is also convenient peripheral connections via USB ports
and audio line-outs. Ten programmable profiles let your keyboard
learn up your computer habits and modify itself sufficiently.

Razer
proltone m100 ear plugs
Cat:
Once more this is lightweight with a jetset-enabled travel
adaptor, as well as 3 interchangeable ear plugs for custom
fit. Once more, this comes with Pro|Bass technology which
claims to produce rich, full-bodied sound.
Stan:
STAN::“Stylish SOHO-inspired design.” It is rather tiny, but
not so tiny they will fall out of your ears. For those who
know what it means, some tech specs include 6-23,000Hz frequency
response, impedance of 16ohms and max sound pressure level
of 108dB. Ahem.

Razer
proltone m250 headphones
Cat:
Something the Razer people call ergonomic design is flexible,
rubbercoated ear clips aligned with the curvature of your
ear while providing a firm grip as well. This claims to have
unique audio reproduction that is enhanced by Pro|Bass technology.
This is so cool that you’d want to take it everywhere with
you and use it all the time, that there is a jetset-enabled
travel adaptor.
Stan:
Stylish, compartmentalized travel pouch included. Durable
construction and its portable heft, makes this suitable for
audiophiles on the go. Or simply those who’d like to keep
their ears warm.

Prolink
PKL4794G 2.4GHz wireless desktop combo
Cat:This
flat keyboard boasts of giving a consistent desktop look which
I think means it would go well with your desktop machine, what
with its predominantly black/grey tones. One touch push allows
you to navigate the web or shuffle for random music – other
media controls include viewing photos, music or other multimedia
applications.
Stan:
This combos with a laser mouse with tilt wheel that easily
alternates between 800dpi and 1600dpi sensitivity.Work from
up to 10 metres away, and you can take your pick from two
other Prolink keyboards which have similar, albeit lower-end
functions.

SanDisk
Sansa Express USB MP3 Player
Cat:
In my eyes, the thumb-drive form factor can never go wrong
when it comes to flash-based MP3 players. Throw in a reflective
glassy surface for that classy look, all the requisite buttons
for power on, hold, play, pause and so on and so forth...
and you're quite good to go. I've always loved flash-based
MP3 players as most of them come without the messy business
of installing software - pure drag and drop goodness, baby!
SanDisk however, does come from the business of making flash-based
storage products and this somehow has involved creating user
interface applications for this particular MP3 player. ie.
you have a choice of automatically sync-ing yourWindows Media
Player with it. One of the best there is from this class (1GB
flashbased).
Stan:
Other features include the obligatory voice recorder, digital
FM tuner, FM recording and all that jazz. It boasts a Lithium
Polymer rechargeable battery which has capacity for up to
15 hours of play. And if one GB is not sufficient for the
music maestro in you, you have option to add memory via a
niftily-built in microSD card slot.

Motorola
RAZR 2 V8
Cat:This
phone may look like just another iteration of the RAZR philosophy,
but peeps may be surprised to discover that functions are
vastly more powerful. For one, the secondary display is similar
to the primary one - both screens are now useful for navigating
through functions. Apparently, there is also new proprietary
CrystalTalk technology which ensures clearer voice calls even
in noisy environments. I'm glad it's not all about looks for
this new Motorola entries and that they've realised we need
a bit more heft, smarts and substance to keep us hooked.
Stan:
Their "completely redesigned user interface" claims to let
you get to your apps with "never more than 2-3 clicks". That
is a huge value proposition in itself; something current Moto
users can and will appreciate very muchly. Besides that, it's
an all-round improvement in terms of features and usability.
Kudos!

NexStar
Lite External 2.5-inch Hard Drive enclosure
Cat:
What can I say about hard drive enclosures? Talk about their
design? Finishing? Connectivity options? How about what it
claims to do? Vantec appears to offer what it calls an "aluminium
casing that protects the drive from overheating and vibration".
It is "high performance, lightweight, durable and portable."
Apparently, there is also easy installation without the need
for screws and is powered by USB. Hot swappable with plug-and-play?
Of course.
Stan:
Interface for this 128mm by 73mm by 12mm aluminium alloy enclosure
is IDE to USB2.0. Supports Windows XP and older as well as
Macintosh systems. Comes with nice casing and assorted required
connectivity cables.
