A Long Wait
Hello, I’m your subscriber in Sandakan, Sabah. I usually end up getting the magazine a little late no thanks to Pos Malaysia but last month was later than usual. Is there any way you think you could get your magazine earlier to East Malaysians like myself?. Harry Samin, Sandakan

We did encounter a lot of hitches with last month’s issue and we do apologise for the lateness. As to your experience getting your magazine later than usual, try giving our circulation executive a ring at the office or email her at circulation@ pcdc.com.my Give your IC number and full name as well so we can properly check our records. Glitches do happen and we apologise again, hopefully your subscription will be on track from September onwards. Thanks again for your support and readership. -ED

Malaysian News?
I know that you call yourself a local magazine but from what I see, you don’t carry much ‘local’ news as in local government directives, local IT companies besides big names. If I wanted to just know about what Intel or Apple is doing, I could just go to the Internet but there is already very little local content to be found. Do you think we could see a bit more Malaysian flavour in the magazine soon? Steven Pang, Georgetown

To be honest, we do carry local news when we have the space for it and we don’t ignore significant local happenings which usually find some way into the magazine though not necessarily in the columns you expect. We interviewed local Open Source company Technodex in a piece on Open Source last year and people like MIMOS who contribute a lot to research and development in the IT get coverage as well. To somewhat appease you, perhaps you could check out our piece on the last National Information Technology Council Meeting (NITC) at Cyberjaya and the resulting announcements. If you feel there are certain individuals or endeavours that should be getting our notice, by all means drop us a word and we will look into it. It’s feedback like this from our readers that makes our job more enjoyable. Besides seeing you at the PIKOM PC Fair of course. -ED

Contest
I appreciate the many contests you have every month but maybe you could have different ones from the slogans? Perhaps a prize for the most creative entry or for readers who want to show off their creativity, maybe show off the entry in the magazine. Perhaps have a digital art contest for readers to show off their artistic skills and maybe even design a page for the magazine. It would be good for students in multimedia like myself to get some experience in designing for a magazine. Julia, Cyberjaya

That’s a pretty interesting idea, actually and yes, it would be welcome to have a change from our usual contests. Even I wonder how the more persistent of our readers keep coming up with slogans to win stuff but if you get gifts as cool as the ones we get in our movie contest giveaways, I suppose everyone can find their inner muse. A graphic art contest might be cool too as we believe in encouraging students in colleges hence our Mobile Raiders project. -ED
